Meaghan is also a long time vegan, who demonstrates that it’s possible to not only survive – but also thrive – as a high performance elite athlete eating only plant based vegan foods.

Meaghan rescued her dog Moo-tae – a miniature dachshund mix – from the Korean dog meat trade. He now lives with her in Montreal, and she works with Humane Society International to end the dog meat trade. She adopted a second dog, Theo, from an Ottawa area SPCA.

With her partner Eric Radford, she’s also a two-time world champion, two time Four Continents champion, and seven-time Canadian National Champion. During the individual pairs free skate at the 2018 Olympics, Duhamel and Radford became the first team to execute a clean quadruple throw jump at the Olympics.
